Just imagine if your rollercoaster ride breaks down in between! It will be the scariest imagination to think for anyone. But, a real incident has come to light from England where a joyride turned into a nightmare for its riders.
As the ride malfunctioned, riders were left trapped in 100 feet in the air.
According to the reports of The Sun, the riders of rollercoaster named The Smiler at Alton Towers, England, hanged in the air for about 20 minutes at Alton Towers- an amusement park in Staffordshire, England.
The video has surfaced the Internet after a Twitter user named Terry Brooks shared it on the micro-blogging site. In the video, it can be seen that riders stuck on The Smiler that was stopped due to the malfunction.

However, Engineers were called immediately to repair the malfunction and then, freed the riders who were stuck on The Smiler, as per The Sun reports.
After this horrible incident, Alton Towers’ spokesperson apologized in a statement and said, "We apologise to all guests affected by the stoppage on The Smiler late this afternoon. Our guest relations team have spoken to everyone on board to offer return tickets to the park as compensation for the inconvenience. Our technical team are working to reset the ride this evening so this should not affect guests visiting the park tomorrow."
