In a bizarre incident, a 57-year-old man was chanting the Gayatri Mantra during his brain tumour surgery. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Reportedly, his tumour has been removed from the brain without making him fully unconscious. The doctor gave him only local anesthesia.
In the video, the doctors were also seen interacting with the patient during his operation. The operation lasted for four hours and the patient was seen chanting the Gayatri mantra.
Dr. KK Bansal, a senior neurosurgeon at a private hospital, told the media that the patient named Ridhamal Ram, a resident of Churu, used to have epileptic seizures repeatedly. Due to this reason, the man lost his voice for some time. During his brain examination, it was revealed that the tumour was in the speech area of the brain. Due to the tumor’s position, the patient could be lost his voice because of the surgery.
There was also a risk of being paralyzed. Therefore, doctors decided to keep Ram conscious while performing his brain surgery.
During the surgery, the doctor was seen talking to the patient for some time and also asked him to chant Ram-Ram and the patient was asked the name of a fruit.
Thankfully, the doctors took out the tumour with the help of CUSA (Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator) and microscope by making a two-inch incision in the head.
