Elephant goes on a rampage during wedding procession; terrifying video goes viral

In a shocking incident, an elephant went on a rampage during a wedding procession in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The video of the horrifying incident has gone viral on social media.

Reportedly, the elephant went on a rampage after irked over the noise of firecrackers during the wedding.


However, no one was injured in the incident, but the elephant damaged vehicles and also uprooted pandals at the wedding venue. The incident took place in Alampur village under Sarai Inayat police station of Prayagraj, according to a Times of India report.

SHO of Sarai Inayat police station, Rakesh Chaurasia, confirmed that the incident took place during the wedding function.

Reportedly, the elephant was hired for the wedding celebrations, however, it got agitated by the firecrackers’ sounds that were burst during the welcome of the groom and the guests.

During the incident, an elephant damaged two cars, a few bikes, and a pandal installation at the venue.

When the jumbo went on a rampage, the groom and the guests were got panicked and ran away to save their lives. The video shows a man trying to free a horse from a carriage that was just a few feet away from the elephant.

Somehow, the elephant was brought under control by the mahout, SHO said. Following the incident, the forest ranger was alerted about the incident and also requested to take appropriate action.

Fake news was also circulated on social media that the mahout was killed in the incident.

However, SHO Rakesh Chaurasia denied all such claims.
