10 members of family killed in jeep-bus collision in Madhya Pradesh's Dindori

Ten members of a family, including three women, were killed and two others injured on 18 August when the jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a bus in Dindoli, Madhya Pradesh.

The victims were travelling to Piparia in the district from Byohara to celebrate 'Raksha Bandhan'. The deceased included a recently married couple.

The impact of the collision was such that ten persons died on the spot, Shahpura police station in-charge Anil Patle said. The deceased were identified as the driver Santosh (28), Nanhe Singh (50), Balchand (40), Rituraj (19), Bharat (19), Milochna (19), Semli, Pavan (21), Babita (18).

Another deceased is yet to be identified. The injured were shifted to a hospital where condition of one is stated to be critical, he said. The district Collector has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 20,000 each to the kin of those killed. Investigation into the accident is underway.
