US: 26-year-old mother beats minor son to death; gets 50 years in prison

A 26-year-old mother sentenced to jail for 50 years for murdering her 5-year-old son in the United States.

According to media reports, the woman is a resident of Chicago and she committed such heinous crime in 2018.


The convicted mother has been identified as Jacqueline Rambert. The woman had pleaded guilty to child endangerment and other charges resulting in the death of the boy, as per reports in the People.com.

Jacqueline has been sentenced to 50 years each for separate charges but all the sentences will run concurrently.

As per the reports, US prosecutors had dropped the murder charge instead of her pleading guilty.

Reports in Associated Press said that the woman convicted also testified against her former boyfriend Tre Henderson, who was also convicted of first-degree murder of the child.

Both accused were living together in a flat at the time of the child’s death.

According to the reports, the child died in April 2018 after suffering some severe injuries, including 17 broken ribs, internal damage, and bruises on the head and ankle. Reportedly, the woman’s boyfriend brutally beaten the child.

During the trial, the woman told the court that her boyfriend asked her to beat the child after he urinated on himself.

After beating the child brutally, he fell ill and lost his appetite. However, the convicted mother also admitted that she punched her son his side and broke his ribs.

To save herself, Jacqueline dialed emergency number and told the cops that her son was choking and also not responding.
