2 Jet crew members injured in Brussels, MEA issues helpline number

Two crew members of Jet Airways were injured at Brussels airport, where double explosions killed at least 13 people and injured 35 others, NDTV reported.

The private carrier had earlier stated that as per first information, all aircraft were safe.

A statement from the private carrier stated, "We are aware of the bomb explosions at Brussels airport. Jet Airways is making all efforts to confirm the status of all its staff and guests. As per first information, the Jet Airways aircraft in Brussels are safe."

The Ministry of External Affairs has also said that no injuries have been reported. MEA also issued an emergency helpline number for those stuck in Brussels: +32-471650001.

The report adds: Brussels is the European hub for Jet Airways, where four of its aircraft touch down daily.

Three of the flights had arrived and another was pending when the blasts tore through the departure hall of the airport.

According to latest updates, other explosive devices have been discovered at the airport. This was confirmed by RTBF correspondent Laurent Henrard who cited firefighters for his report.

Belgian media have reported the presence of several injured people in the Brussels Airport departure hall. Rail traffic to the airport has been suspended.

No planes are landing at Brussels Airport which has been put on lockdown and flights are being diverted to Antwerp.
