Shocking! 8-month pregnant woman shot in face by 4-year-old son in US; here's what happened next
In a shocking incident, an eight-month-old pregnant woman was shot by her 4-year-old son in the face Unites States’s Washington. As per the report in Independent, the child found the loaded gun kept under a mattress in the house after his father hides it there.
The father of the child was afraid of the growing crime in the neighbourhood following which he hid the gun under the mattress of the house.
The 27-year-old pregnant woman and her partner, the boy's father, were in bed watching television when their child found the gun, reported Independent.
The kid then shot his pregnant mother unintentionally King County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sergeant Ryan Abbott said.
"We don't ever want to see something like this,” he added. The mother was rushed to the Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, the King County Sheriff's Office said.
According to the Washington Post, Her condition has improved and she has been transferred to another hospital. Meanwhile, under new state law, the gun owners could face criminal charges for not keeping the gun safely.
Detectives will be looking into the case on 4 February to see if any charges should be filed, according to KOMO-TV. It is unclear who the gun is registered to.
