“I have played this character for five years now, and I don’t see myself doing it for another five years,” Tandon told BT.
Leaving show due to COVID:
Tandon refuted the rumours claiming that she is leaving the show due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent pay cut. She said that quitting Bhabi Ji was not an impulsive decision. Saumya said that she got anxious after her hairdresser tested positive for COVID as she didn’t want to put her elderly mother and one-and-a-half-year-old son at risk.
Saumya appreciated her producers (Sanjay and Binaifer Kohli) for co-operating her. “ They have been great producers and respect them a lot. As far as pay cut is concerned, in these times, people have to accept that the economy has been hit. I am not leaving the show because of monetary reasons,” she said.
Revealing about her future plans, Saumya said that she wants to be part of good stories. She even looking for Bollywood films with good content.
