Bigg Boss 9: Akshay Kumar to promote Airlift with Salman Khan before heading to Dubai

Bigg Boss is one of the biggest platforms for film promotion on Hindi television. And Bollywood sure knows how to make the best of it. Every week, the reality TV show sees a number of Bollywood stars promoting their upcoming releases, alongside show host Salman Khan.

The latest to join this bandwagon is Bollywood's Khiladi, Akshay Kumar. His film, Airlift, is scheduled to release on 22 January 2016. The film is a fictionalised account of the Indian government's commendable efforts of rescuing over 170,000 Indians from Kuwait in the 1990s.

The Raja Krishna Menon directorial, based on the world's biggest evacuation mission, stars Nimrat Kaur as the female lead.

Fans of Akshay Kumar are in for a treat this week as the actor will grace the small screen with his presence on Bigg Boss 9. He is expected to shoot for Weekend Ka Vaar with Salman Khan on Friday.

After promoting the film on Bigg Boss, Akshay Kumar and Nimrat are reportedly set to visit Dubai as part of their promotion efforts.
