Robot 2: Director Shankar hires eye-specialist for Akshay Kumar

Tamil film director Shankar is touted as the Spielberg of Indian cinema. From the selection of his cast to his method of filmmaking, Shankar has a unique approach to his films. And it is a widely known that he is a perfectionist when it comes to costume and makeup of his characters.

Earlier, the Anniyan director had appointed a dietitian for Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram to create and maintain the actor’s lean look in the film ‘I’. And according to the latest update from Kollywood, the director has hired an eye-specialist for Akshay Kumar, who’s making his Tamil debut in Shankar’s 2.0 (Robot 2). Reportedly, the Khiladi Kumar is required to wear lens for long hours while shooting in his 'crow look' for the film. Shankar is hiring an eye specialist to ensure that the Bollywood superstar doesn't contract eye infections from his prolonged lens use.

Robot 2.0, mounted on a budget of Rs 350 crore, is said to be the costliest Indian film ever made. The story of the film is essentially a love triangle between Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson, and Akshay Kumar - and is reportedly inspired by the Ramayana.
