Kannada film Kirik Party continued its dream run, off to a flying start at the US box office

2016's last Kannada release, Rakshit Shetty's ​​Kirik Party​ is doing good business ​at the box office worldwide even after completing one-month of its theatrical release. Directed by Rishab Shetty and jointly produced by G.S. Guptha and Rakshit Shetty​ for a small budget of Rs. 4 crore, the campus-entertainer was released in on 29 December 2016.

And now, ​Kirik Party​ has repeated its success story at the US box office​ as well. The film, which had released in 70 screens on 3 February had an exceptional opening weekend across the cinemas of US. Kirik Party has grossed an excellent USD 260,000 (Rs.1.77 Crore) on its opening weekend​ at the US Box Office. The film is all set to cross half a million at the US Box Office by the end of its second weekend.

Kirik Party has so far grossed Rs. 30 crore in Karnataka. The film also marked the acting debut of number of fresh faces including the leading heroines Rashmika Mandanna and Samyuktha Hegde.

Popular Kannada film distributor Jayanna, who distributed Kirik Party in Karnataka stated that film has minted Rs. 30 crore from Karnataka alone and he expects Rs. 50 crore from its theatrical run worldwide. He also revealed that out of Rs. 30 crore collection, the producers shares will be Rs. 15 crore as the majority collections come from multiplexes itself.

Meanwhile, Belageddu video song from Kirik Party has crossed 10 million views on YouTube to emerge as the first Kannada film song to do so.
