It's widely known that Malayalam youth icon Unni Mukundan is making his Telugu debut with one of the most-anticipated films of the year, Janatha Garage.
Directed by Koratala Siva of Sreemanthudu fame, Janatha Garage has a formidable star cast including Malayalam actor Mohanlal, Telugu superstar Jr NTR, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nithya Menen, Sai Kumar, Devayani and Marathi actor Sachin Khedekar.

The Mallu Singh actor, who re-joined the sets after a one month holiday in US, talked to Catch recently and mentioned how excited he is for the release of his Telugu debut. The actor is portraying the main antagonist role of Raghav, son of Malayalam superstar Lalettan and veteran actress Devayani, in the film.
Interestingly, this is the actor's second negative role in his acting career. The actor had started his Malayalam innings in 2011 with a negative role in Bangkok Summer. He also revealed details about the shooting schedule and said:
"I have started dubbing for the film and will be done with my schedule by the end of June. Janatha Garage has so far been quite an excited experience. How can it not be? There's Lalettan and Jr NTR in the film. I went on a vacation and have just resumed the shoot."

Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaaya was a litmus test for Unni, who has carved a niche at the Kerala Box Office with his stellar performances in films that are heavy on action and romance. The young actor had to shed his six-pack abs to do justice to the role in the film and the hard work paid off as the film impressed the viewers and the critics alike.

Janatha Garage is written and directed by Koratala Siva and jointly produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar, and C V Mohan under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers. The mega-budget film is slated to hit the screens on 12 August 2016.
