Star shuttler PV Sindhu has jumped three spots to a career-high ranking by becoming world number two in the latest BWF Rankings released on 6 April.

The Rio Olympic silver medalist, Sindhu recently won India Open title with her stellar performance as she defeated arch-rival Carolina Marine in straight sets (21-19 21-16).

Sindhu was awarded 9200 points following her India Open victory and her points tally rose to 75759.

Taiwan player Tai Tzu Ying leads the list with 87911 points.

Sindhu, who is currently 12152 points behind the world number one, was shockingly bundled out in the first-round in the Malaysia Open Super Series. A win at Malaysian Open may have landed Sindhu at the top place.

Rio Olympics silver-medallist Sindhu was knocked out by unseeded Chen Yufei of China 18-21 21-19 21-17.
