Indian shuttlers' campaign at the French Open Super Series came to an end as Saina Nehwal was defeated by Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon on Friday, in the women's singles quarterfinals.
The top-seeded Indian was beaten 9-21, 15-21 in straight games by Intanon in a contest that lasted just over 40 minutes.
The defeat saw Saina, who dropped to second in the latest world rankings, make her third successive early exit in a major tournament after being eliminated in the second round of Japan Open and Denmark Open.
