As the campaigning for the third phase of poll come to an end, Congress’ General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi rallied for his brother Rahul Gandhi in Kerala’s Wayanad, which is deemed to be his second constituency after Amethi.

Priyanka Gandhi, while addressing the crowd in Left’s bastion, described Rahul Gandhi as an “epitome of virtues” and said that “Your future will be safe in his hands.” This was the first election rally by Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad, post Rahul filed his nomination papers, she had earlier rallied in Amethi for the Congress president.

The ashes of Rajiv Gandhi, former PM and father of Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi, was immersed in one of the local stream here in Wayanad and Rahul Gandhi offered prayers at the stream post filing his nomination papers earlier this week.

I am here standing as sister. I am here for my brother. For last ten years he is working hard. He has been personally targeted. We have suffered a lot. I was 12 when my grandmother was assassinated,” said Priyanka Gandhi adding that, “Seven years later my father was killed. Our family of four was deeply affected.”

While sharpening her attack over PM Narendra Modi led BJP government, Priyanka Gandhi alleged that it betrayed the faith of the common man which voted the BJP to power and said that PM Modi, along with other senior leaders of the BJP launched personal attacks on her family, but Rahul Gandhi don’t have “hate” for anyone.

Five years ago, a government came into power that was voted in with a big majority. In all their wisdom, people of our country placed their faith and hopes in the BJP government. That government, from the moment it came to power, began to betray that faith,” added Priyanka.
