Yes Bank Crisis Updates: ED investigates Priyanka Gandhi's painting worth Rs 2 crore purchased by Rana Kapoor

The Enforcement Directorate has commenced a probe in connection with the painting which Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor purchased from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, said officials.

As maintained by the probe agency, Rana Kapoor purchased the painting for Rs 2 crore form the Congress leader.


The painting by MF Hussain was in possession of Priyanka Gandhi from whom Rana Kapoor purchased it.

According to sources, the painting was the property of Congress and not Priyanka Gandhi, but till, it was sold by her to Rana Kapoor. They further stated that Kapoor, was convinced by Congress leader Milind Deora.

No one knows the actual value of the painting but still Kapoor bought it for Rs 2 crore. Every amount Kapoor has invested in properties is proceeds of crime and thus far the 2 crore which was spent to buy this painting, a source told India Today.

It has also been discovered that the painting by MF Hussain was made during tthe centenary celebration of the Congress property. Rana Kapoor had sent the cheque to Pryanka’s personal secretary and the price of the painting was decided by her, added sources.

The also alleged that Kapoor has over 40 exquisite portraits in his possession. While purchasing portraits, he took certificates from experts for the valuation, but no such certificate was procured for the portrait.

The probe agency has already questioned Rana Kapoor about the portrait.
