As heat waves are on top, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee found a crack to tackle the soaring temperature of the state during the election campaigns for Lok Sabha elections.

TMC leader Banerjee, sitting MP from Diamond Harbour constituency, who is contesting against BJP's Nilanjan Roy and CPI(M)'s Fraud Halim from the same seat has used his own statue in the poll rally.

A video of TMC supporters is campaigning for Abhishek Banerjee by using his statue, placed on a jeep. The supporters can be seen raising slogans for his support.

The video was shared by MP Swapan Dasgupta on Twitter, who claimed that Abhishek Banerjee used this unique idea so that he could avoid the summer heat.

Meanwhile, other reports, the statue was used by TMC supporters for the campaign due to lack of time Abhishek to campaign in the constituency.

Abhishek Banerjee, who last week filed his nomination papers and submitted affidavit at the time show a 200 per cent rise in his assents as compared to that he declared in 2014. He declared his movable assets at Rs 71.40 lakh, as against around Rs. 23.57 lakh declared in 2014.
