A shocking incident was reported from Annamalai in Tamil Nadu where a woman kidnapped a newborn baby from a hospital. Police arrested the accused on Thursday morning in Pollachi.

The accused was identified as Mariamma who kidnapped a five-day-old baby on Sunday. As per police, the 50-year-old accused met the child’s parents the tribal couple from Narikalpathi village which is near Annamalai, in the hospital. The accused told the couple that her husband is admitted in the male ward and can she stay with her in the female ward, she also urged that she will take care of the child.

As per ANI report, the couple allowed the lady but a few hours later she ran away with their child. As soon as they noticed that their child is missing they raised the alarm when hospital authorities checked the CCTV footage they immediately reported the whole matter to the police.

Two special teams were formed to trace the women and soon they nabbed the accused in Pollachi and then she was sent to the Coimbatore Central Prison.
