Statehood Day: PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi extend wishes to states Karnataka, Haryana, Kerala and others

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the contribution of Karnataka, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala in the growth trajectory of the country as these states mark their respective statehood day on Friday.

As the state of Karnataka celebrates its Rajyotsava today, PM Modi referred the state for its 'outstanding contribution' towards India.

PM Modi tweeted, "The state's natural beauty and people's warm-hearted nature are well known. Praying for Karnataka's development in the times to come,"

 

Noticeably, Karnataka came into being on this day in 1956. However, on Haryana statehood day, Modi referred it as a land of courage, skill, soldiers and farmers. He also said that Haryana is the mixture of ancient culture and new technology which is contributing to the nation's growth. Noticeably, the state was formed in 1966.

While, Kerala was formed on the same day in 1956, and to wish the state, PM Modi tweeted, "On Kerala Piravi day, greetings to my sisters and brothers of Kerala. People from this state have made remarkable contributions to the nation. May the people of the state be happy and prosperous,"

 

On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also wishes people of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry on their statehood or state formation day.

Rahul Gandhi in his Facebook post wrote, "My best wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Haryana on their state formation day. The support and progress of every state has helped for India.Let us take a pledge to make our own states prosperous."
