In a heinous act, a 16-year-old girl from Jharkhand, employed as domestic help in Delhi's Paschim Vihar was killed and butchered into pieces when she asked for her salary from the man who brought her to Delhi, the police said on Sunday after arresting one of the killers from Nangloi.
The victim identified as Soni Kumari, a native of a village near Ranchi was brought to the national capital as a domestic help for a monthly wage of Rs 6,500 but was not paid a single penny over three years. She worked as a full-time help at a businessman’s house in south Delhi’s East of Kailash area, said the officer.
Later, the girl decided to return to Jharkhand and asked for her salary. The accused tried to convince her and refused her demand, but she didn't get agree and then he came up with this cruel thought to kill her. “She was chopped into pieces and the body parts were packed in a bag,” said a senior police officer.
The arrested accused was identified as Manjeet Karketa. Police is in search to nab three other accused. According to police, the body parts were found in separate packets in a drain in outer Delhi’s Miyanwali Nagar on May 4.
Additional DCP (outer) Rajender Singh Sagar told The Indian Express that the accused, Manjeet Singh Karketa (30), was nabbed from his rented accommodation in Nangloi’s Bhooton Wali Gali on May 17. “Manjeet disclosed that he, along with his accomplices, brought the victim, Soni Kumari, to Delhi three years ago. They found her employment at a house in East of Kailash,” said DCP Sagar.
She worked as a full-time help at a businessman’s house in south Delhi’s East of Kailash area, said the officer. As per the report, police got a PCR call on May 4 about a chopped body lying in a bag in C-block of Rao Vihar, Mianwali Nagar of Paschim Vihar. Police initiated an investigation and started efforts to identify the body.
