A video showing a man tied to an army jeep that moves in a convoy has reportedly surfaced. The man is believed to be a protester who was used as a shield to prevent stone pelting from other protestors on the day of Srinagar by-election.
The video which has widely been shared has sparked anger and Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also joined the Twitter force to express his anger.
"This young man was TIED to the front of an army jeep to make sure no stones were thrown at the jeep? This is just so shocking!," tweeted Omar Abdullah.
A lot of videos have been made available on social media since April 9 (by-polls day).
Earlier this week, one of the videos shared on social media showed that jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF was attacked by the protestors but they didn't retaliate.
The army, reportedly, justified its action saying that, "they would have been lynched by 400 people."
"They were sure to be lynched there since the crowd size increased and opening fire would have resulted in a blood bath. To defend themselves, the Company Commander caught hold of a protestor and tied him to his jeep," NDTV quoted sources as saying.
