As Congress president Rahul Gandhi called-up a meeting with its Delhi unit today for a possible tie-up with AAP in Delhi, senior leader Sheila Dikshit has announced that ‘there will be no alliance with AAP.’

In a decision taken by the grand old party, Sheila Dikshit has said, “A unanimous decision has been taken that there will be no alliance in Delhi.”

It was being speculated that Rahul Gandhi and the party high command were in a position to ally with the ruling AAP but it’s the Delhi Congress unit which was adamant not to go with the Aam Aadmi Party.

As per media reports, there was a possibility of Congress getting hold of 3 seats but the AAP could have offered 2 and the latter was also open for a tie-up in Punjab and Haryana as well.

The strong contender BJP, which had swiped all the seven seats in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, were no where near the AAP in the 2015 Delhi Assembly when it created history after winning 67 seats and BJP was decimated to a mere three and the grand old party of India (Congress) was brought to zero.
