Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will appear in a trial court in Delhi on 19 December for the National Herald case.
The Gandhis will appear before a trial court in Patiala House at around 3 pm, according to an NDTV report. Sonia, Rahul and four others have been accused of trying to illegally acquire real estate worth thousands of crores.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had filed the case in 2012 and the local court had summoned the Gandhis and others in 2014. The Congress leaders challenged it in Delhi court but the High Court refused to put a stay on summons earlier this month.
After the High Court ruling, Rahul Gandhi had lashed out at the ruling BJP and called the decision a case of "political vendetta" on the part of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
