Mumbai rain has slow-down the city and neighbouring areas on Sunday, waterlogging and potholes led to many accidents. Recently a woman was crushed to death by a bus after she slipped off from a bike. The bike went into a pothole as there was waterlogged on the road after which it was imbalanced and she was thrown off and came under a bus in Maharashtra's Kalyan on Sunday. The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera of a shop nearby.

The woman identified as Manish Bhoir used to work at a school in Thane's Kalyan and was on her way home with a family member last evening when the accident took place. In the video, Ms Bhoir can be seen riding pillion as she holds up an umbrella for the man and herself to protect themselves from the rain.

The bike slipped as it went over a pothole on the waterlogged road in Kalyan's one of prime area Shivaji Chowk. Ms Bhoir and her co-rider fell to their right and she went under the bus and crushed to death.

According to reports, the rear wheels of a speeding bus ran over Manisha Bhoir. As her relative and passers-by rushed to pull her out, the bus inched forward, further crushing the woman. She died on the spot.

This year in April, the Bombay High Court said the Maharashtra government's efforts to make every city "smart" was commendable but it would only be possible when a city's roads, streets and footpaths were in a good condition and free of potholes. Every time an innocent dies due to potholes and waterlogging in the city and its nearby areas.
