Maharashtra, Haryana Assembly polls results 2019: All you need to know about counting day

The assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana happened on 21st October and the results will be out sooner then we expected, 24th October.

This time around, the turnout of voters fell steeply as Maharashtra registered a provisional voter trunout of 60.05 per cent untill 6:00 pm, which was previously recorded at 63.08 in 2014, while on the other hand Haryana recorded 65 per cent, which was previously recorded at 76.54 per cent during the last election.

The exit polls indicates an easy win for the Bharatiya Janata Party. In Maharashtra, a total of numerous exit polls manifested that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance would win 211 of 288 seats in the state and the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party just 64 seats.

However, in Haryana, it forecasted that the BJP is expected to win 66 of 90 seats while the Congress claims 14.

Time for Haryana, Maharashtra Assembly poll results: The counting of votes will commence at 8 am on Thursday and are likely to be declared by 5 pm by the Election Commission of India.

The four major political parties that are going face to face in Haryana includes Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Indian National Lok Dal and Jannayak Janata Party. Shiromani Akali Dal is contesting on three seats.

The major parties in Maharashtra are BJP, Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP.

In Maharashtra, while Congress has been having a tough time fending after its overwhelming defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, the NCP’s Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar are fighting charges filed by the Enforcement Directorate in a case pertaining to alleged irregularities at a cooperative bank.

While the BJP held a dynamic campaign, with PM Modi, Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath also playing a part in numerous rallies across Maharashtra.
