Virender Sehwag condemns attack on army camp in Kupwara, says 'this has to end'

Former Indian opening batsman, Virender Sehwag, expressed grief over the Fidayeen attack carried out by militants on an army camp in Kupwara in north Kashmir.

He took to Twitter and asserted that the violence has to end.

“3 soldiers martyred, dreams of 3 families shattered, as we were sleeping. Whatever be the solution, this now has to end somewhere,” he tweeted.

 

An army captain and two soldiers were killed in the attack today.

The army officer killed was identified as Captain Ayush, official sources said.

The incident took place at Panjgaon at Chowkibal when militants, suspected to be of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad stormed the battalion camp which is in-charge of road opening duties on the crucial roads in this area.

Two militants were killed as army foiled their attack, the sources said. However, a hunt is on to ascertain if any militant sneaked into the camp under the cover of darkness.
