Election Commission rejects demand to stay PM's 'Mann ki Baat' for Bihar election

The Election Commission, on 18 September, rejected petition of 'mahagathbandhan' parties in Bihar to suspend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann ki Baat' ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

Congress, JD(U) and RJD had approached the EC on 16 September, and said that the radio telecast will give BJP an 'undue advantage' and therefore, it should be suspended until completion of Bihar elections.

The program has been broadcast once a every month ever since Modi became the Prime Minister.
