India’s Prime Minister and President to get their brand new aircrafts by early 2020

India’s Prime Minister, President and Vice-President will be going to get their own brand new planes by early 2020, said senior government officials.

Air India has recently bought the two Boeing 777-300 ERs that will surely have a VIP enclosure, a press conference room and a patient transport unit for medical emergencies. However, the aircraft also get the Wi-Fi on board and also have the anti-missile protection, said official.

A Boeing 777 unlike the older Boeing 747, which were borrowed from Air India as and when a VVIP visited overseas, can fly non-stop to the US, thereby dispensing with the need to halt for refuelling.

Air Indian has to involve the Boeing 777 aircraft in February and March. In 2006, it has completed an order of 68 planes placed with the aerospace major. However, the two of these three planes will only be for the VVIP use. According to the senior official, from Air India, the government will buy these aircraft soon.

However, the aircraft will only for VVIPs like President, Prime Minister and Vice-President. Earlier, during the budget announcement for the next fiscal, the government had set aside an amount of Rs 4,469.50 crore for the purchase of these aircraft from Air India. For a special protection suite or anti-missile protection in these VVIP’s plane, the Indian Air Force also negotiating with the US government.

Well, the government is yet to finalise its decision over the deployment of pilots and cabin crew on the privatization of Air India
