Hardik Patel extends support to Arvind Kejriwal, asks AAP to back Patel community's demands

Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel has extended the support of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti's (PAAS) to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In a letter, Patel also asked Kejriwal to support the Patel community's demand for quota and OBC status.

According to The Hindu, the letter was handed over to Kejriwal by Patel's aides in Mehsana on the night of 14 October.

Hardik Patel, the 23-year-old leader of the Patel quota agitation has appealed to Kejriwal, who is on a four-day visit to Gujarat, to raise the issues of Patidar community in Delhi.

He also raked up the issue of the police firing during last year's agitation that killed around dozen Patidars. In the letter, Patel wrote that the BJP-led state government has "crushed the democracy" in Gujarat.

Kejriwal visited the families of those who killed in police firing in Mehsana and is scheduled to hold a rally in Surat on 16 October.
