After a police constable was killed by a stone-pelting mob yesterday in Ghazipur, while returning from PM Modi’s rally, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at UP CM Yogi Adityanath saying his only motive is ‘thok do.’

Although, UP Police has arrested 11 people in connection with the murder and an FIR has been registered with 32 persons being named in it, yet the questions over law and order situation will be raised.

Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said, “Ye ghatna isliye ghati hai kyunki CM sadan mein ho ya manch pe ho unki ek hi bhasha hai ‘thok do’. Kabhi police ko nahi samjh aata kise 'thokna' hai kabhi janta ko nahi samajh aata kise 'thokna' hai.”

ADG PV Rama Sastry of Varanasi zone informed in a press conference that “Till now, 11 people have been arrested. According to the CMO, the reason of death of the constable is head injury. Post-mortem report is awaited.”

Circle Officer of Ghazipur MP Pathak has said, “32 people have been named in the FIR. 60 unnamed people also mentioned in the FIR. A few people have also been arrested.”

Deceased constable Suresh Vats’ son VP Singh grieved over the incident and expressed his anger over the administration saying, “Police is not being able to protect their own. What can we expect from them? What will we do with compensation now?Earlier, similar incidents took place in Bulandshahr & Pratapgarh.”
