Congress' Mission UP: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, Jyotiraditya Scindia begin roadshow in Lucknow

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accompanied by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and western UP general secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia begin roadshow in Lucknow. The Congress’ mission Uttar Pradesh had a kick start in Lucknow with a road on a modified party truck through the crowded streets of the city of Nawabs.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is in a light kurta-churidar and a Congress-themed scarf, along with brother Rahul and Scindia on the rooftop of the truck decorated in party colours. The 47-year-old Priyanka entered in active politics as general secretary of eastern UP. This is the first time that the sibling's duo is campaigning outside the Gandhi family constituencies of Amethi and Raebareli.


This Lucknow visit of Priyanka Gandhi will sound the political bugle for the Uttar Pradesh Congress ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Priyanka is a big hope for the party in the make-or-break state of Uttar Pradesh ahead of Lok Sabha polls. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s entry in politics was announced by her elder brother Rahul Gandhi as the AICC general secretary in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh two weeks ago. Priyanka said that she hopes to "start a new kind of politics in which everyone - even the weakest - will be a stakeholder".
