Confirmed! Mumbaikars face worst traffic jam in the world, reveals report

India’s financial capital Mumbai has the worst traffic jams not only in India, in fact across the world. According to an international report based on extensive statistical analysis, Mumbaikars face the worst traffic jams, reveals report.

As per the report data, people spend 65% longer on the roads during peak hours on average than when the roads are free. While New Delhi with 58 per cent its list on the fourth position, followed by Bogota Columbia 1ith 63 per cent and Lima, Peru with 58 per cent.

Moscow is in the fifth position with 56 per cent. All the figures are part of an international report, the TomTom Traffic Index 2018, released by sat nav manufacturer TomTom on Tuesday.

As per the GPS-based study on traffic congestion in over 400 cities of the world, Mumbai has earned the dubious epithet of the 'Most Traffic Congested City', according to report in TOI.

"Globally, traffic congestion is rising. And that's both good, and bad, news. It's good because it indicates a strong global economy, but the flip side is drivers wasting time sitting in traffic, not to mention the huge environmental impact,"  Ralf-Peter Schaefer, TomTom's VP of traffic information said.
