CBI crisis: No clean cheat to Alok Verma; CVC submits inquiry reports to SC, seeks more time to probe CBI Director

The CVC has filed its report in the Supreme Court related to the inquiry of CBI director Alok Verma and the Chief Justice has said that, “Alok Verma’s lawyer will get the copy of the report.”

The Supreme Court has not given a clean chit to the director Alok Verma and the CJI has said that more inqury is required on some matter related to the allegations.

The CJI has also said that “the lawyer of Rakesh Athana (the special director of the CBI) will not get the copy of the CVC report.”

The Supreme Court has said that the next hearing in the case will be on November 20 and has asked the director Alok Verma to file his response in the matter by November 19.

The Supreme Court has observed that the report filed by the Central Vigilance Commission is “a mix” and it cannot give away a clean chit to the director. The Supreme Court has also given a chit to interim chief of the CBI, Nageshwar Rao, who was alleged by the Common Cause NGO for posting and transferring CBI officers arbitrarily.

The Attorney General KK Venugopal has said that he has not received the inquiry report filed by the CVC today in the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court has said that “there is nothing wrong in the decisions taken by the joint director Nageshwar Rao and that the Common Cause has failed to prove anything against him.”

The Supreme Court has said that it will take action in this case, ones the CBI director Alok Verma files his response on Monday.
