A fresh set of posters issuing life threats to Jawaharlal University Student Union president Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, have been making the rounds on social media.
According to news reports, the poster reads:
"Shooting traitors is a national duty and I shall shoot Kanhaiya, Umar and Anirban."
The poster reportedly bears the name of Balbir Singh Bharatiya - who claims to be a social worker associated with the Anna Hazare-led movement. The poster also bears Singh's phone number and a passport size photograph.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal told the India Today that the police has initiated an enquiry into the matter.
On 7 March, the Delhi Police arrested Adarsh Sharma, president of Purvanchal Sena, who announced a bounty of Rs 11 lakh for anyone who "shoots" JNU Students' Union president Kumar.
