Amritsar Blast: One accused involved in the grenade attack arrested by Punjab Police

The Punjab Police has arrested one of the accused who was involved in spreading a terror by throwing a grenade in Amritsar’s Nirankari Satsang Bhawan. He has been arrested on Wednesday, said Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

The accused has been identified as Bikramjit Singh, CM said.


While the second person involved in the attack was also identified as Avtar Singh, who is still at large.

Punjab CM Singh has held a press conference and announced that the Punjab Police has solved the case. He also said that the grenade that has been used in the blast was made in Pakistan.

He said that 'I'm happy to announce that police nabbed one of the two persons involved. 26-year-old Bikramjit Singh has been arrested. The other man will also be arrested soon. His name is Avtar Singh: Punjab CM on #Amritsar blast at Nirankari Mission congregation that claimed 3 lives.'

 

 

'This is the type of grenade which has been taken from other modules. This is the one being used against forces in Kashmir & this is the one that burst. This one is made under license by Pakistan licensed factory & is filled with pellets,' Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said.

 

The motorcycle which has been used by the two accused also recovered. CM Singh also told that the incident was a terrorist attack and it has no religious link.

CM Amarinder Singh said that the accused was arrested early morning from near Loharka village.
