IPL 9 | World's richest T20 tournament kicks off with glittering opening ceremony in Mumbai
The recently concluded ICC World T20 is arguably a tough act to follow. The tournament concluded with one of the most thrilling finals that an ICC tournament has ever seen. But if there was one tournament in the world that could match up to it, it's the IPL. And it's finally here.
The tournament's first match is on the 9th of April between debutants Rising Pune Supergiants and Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. But the party started a day earlier with the opening ceremony which was attended by players of all franchises in Mumbai, with performances by Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif and Ranveer Singh. Yo Yo Honey Singh made a comeback to the stage, along with a host of other celebrities in attendance.
