Pune man kills girlfriend, body parts stuffed in suitcases and disposed

A man in Maharashtra’s Pune allegedly killed his girlfriend, who worked as a sex worker, put her body parts in three suitcases and disposed them in the Mutha ghat on the Pirangut-Lavasa Road. The body parts were found on Tuesday, ten days after they were disposed of.

The victim was a commercial sex worker. Reportedly, she was killed by a 40-year-old man from Budhwar Peth. Allegedly, the accused had an illicit love affair with the woman.


As maintained by the crime branch inspector Mahendra Jagtap, the suspect confessed to kiling of the woman took the cops to the area where he had disposed the suitcases. DCP Shrinivas Ghadge and ACP Surendra Deshmukh went to the location with the accused man and found the suitcases.

Investigation into the matter disclosed that the victim had shifted to Budhwar Peth from Mumbai around one year ago. Around three months ago, the woman got into a relationship with the accused, who is married. Reportedly, the accused had rented a flat for the woman in Narayan Peth, the TOI reported.

Earlier, the accused and the woman had an altercation in the flat. After this, the accused had strangulated the woman to death and had left the flat after locking it from the outside.

Following the horrific incident, the victim had gone to a friend's home in Akkalkot, Solapur, hired a tempo and came back to the flat on 14th August. He then chopped the woman's body and packed the parts in three different suitcases. One of the brothel operators in Budhwar Peth had registered a missing complaint, after the woman couldn't be found.
