In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly set ablaze after she resisted sexual harassment in Bihar.

The heinous crime took place in Rasoolpur village under Desari police station of Vaishali district in Bihar on October 30, timesnownews.com reported.

The girl was allegedly burnt alive when she went to dispose of the garbage outside her house.

She was allegedly dragged by three persons including the father of the accused. All three accused set the girl on fire after pouring kerosene on her.

The victim girl sustained around 75 percent of burn injuries.

The 20-year-old girl’s family alleged that the accused man and his sons were also involved in the gruesome act. After the ghastly incident, the victim girl was rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) where she succumbed to her injuries on November 15.

Due to the inaction in the case, the family staged a protest at Patna’s Kargil Chowk by keeping the dead body of the victim on the road.

According to a report in ANI, the family has also demanded the arrest of all three accused in the case. After police assurance, the family agreed to perform the funeral of the victim. As per the victim’s sister, the accused had been stalking and harassing her sister for the last four months.

On the other hand, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut demanded justice for the victim.

She tweeted, “Our daughters are not safe, everyday there are bigger and even more heinous crimes against them unfold. Dear liberals I've a request don't look at victims or criminals through your secular lens. At least don't divide them, Let's fight against injustice together”
