  • Barcelona are in the final of the Club World Cup after beating Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao in the semifinal in Yokohama.
  • Luis Suarez was leading the attack in the absence of Lionel Messi and Neymar, stealing the show with a hat-trick.
  • Suarez has now scored 15 goals in his last 10 matches, and has proved he can function independently.

Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick as Barcelona claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao on 17 December to seal their place in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Barcelona, who entered the finals of the tournament for the fourth time, were without the services of star players Neymar and Lionel Messi as they were ruled out of the match due to their respective injuries.

Suarez, who seized responsibility for the European champions in the absence of two key players, smashed a goal in the 39th minute of the match to put his side in lead before making it 2-0 in the 50th minute.

In the 67th minute of the game, Suarez scored a penalty to complete his treble in the semifinal match.

Despite several efforts, Guangzhou failed to score a goal of their own.

Barcelona will now aim to claim their fifth trophy of 2015 when they take on River Plate in the final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou will now face Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the third-place play-off.
