Union Budget 2020 on Job sector: Single entrance test for non-gazetted government vacancies

Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikaas, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announces schemes for various sectors of the society, including the job and education sector.

Modi government has come up with an idea to conduct a single entrance test for the recruitment of the non-gazetted positions.


The government has decided to set up a single test for recruitment to non-gazetted posts. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed to set up a national recruitment agency that will conduct the common test for the recruitment.

The examination centre will be set up in every district especially in the aspirational district.
Besides, the government will soon introduce the new education policy.

“This budget is woven around three prominent themes, aspirational India, in which all sections of society seek better standards of living, economic development for all,” Sitharaman said.

Presenting the Budget 2020-21, Sitharaman also announced that Rs 99,300 crore allocated for the education sector and Rs 3,000 crore for skill development for the next fiscal.

What are non-gazetted posts:

Officers falling under the category of class III and IV are considered as non-gazette officers. These category officers are not allowed to issue an official stamp on behalf of the Government. Further, Employees serving in Nationalized Banks and PSUs are not gazetted but they can attest financial documents.
