SSC CGL Result 2016: Tier 1 results expected in next 7 days

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) results 2016 for Tier 1 exam will soon be announced on the official website - ssc.nic.in. According to reports, candidates can expect their results within the next seven days.

SSC CGL examination is conducted for recruitment to Group B and Group C posts across various ministries, government departments and offices in the country. This year, the computer-based exams were conducted from 27 August to 11 September. Over over 25 lakh had applied for SSC CGL tier 1 exam. A total of 14,25,234 candidates appeared for the test.

Earlier, media reports suggested that the results will be declared on 7 October. However, there has been no official communication from the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) authorities. Also Read: IBPS RRB exam 2016 admit cards are available on official website ibps.in

New format to check SSC CGL result 2016

This year, a new format to see the results is being developed by the authorities. Like most online exam results, candidates need to enter their roll number and date of birth on the official website. The results will be displayed on screen.

Last year, about 1,44,871 candidates qualified for SSC CGL tier 2 exam.

SSC CGL Tier 2 exam

As per emerging reports, SSC CGL Tier 2 exam is expected to be conducted in November 2016.

In the computer-based test, selected candidates need to attempt 300 questions in four hours. Candidates applying for Statistical Investigator Grade- II or Compiler need to appear for one more paper - Statistics - wherein one needs to attempt 100 questions in two hours.

The overall selection process of SSC CGL consisted of four stages:-

Tier I: Computer-based Objective type test

Tier II: Computer-based Objective type test

Tier III: Skill test or interview (depending on post applied for).

Tier IV: Computer proficiency test (depending on post applied for).

Meanwhile, the commission has released notifications for Delhi Police recruitment 2016, whose registrations end on 10 October. SSC Junior engineers exam will be held on 3 and 4 December.
