Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2016, a day before the scheduled date, on 16 August.
Gujarat based Het Shah emerged as the topper of NEET 2016 by scoring 685 out of 720 and securing 99.999863 percentile.

All India Rank (AIR) 2 went to Ekansh Goyal with 682 marks, securing 99.999726 percentile. Nikhil Bajiya secured AIR 3 with 678 marks, 99.999590.
All the three toppers are classroom students of Allen Institute.

About 8 lakh candidates registered, out of which 7.3 lakh candidates appeared for NEET 2016. The total number of top 15% qualified candidates is 19,325. Overall, 4,09,477 candidates qualified for NEET 2016, out which 2,26,049 are girls and 1,83,424 boys.
NEET-I was conducted at 1040 centres in 52 cities all over India and abroad & NEET-II was conducted at 739 centres in 56 cities in India.
