Delhi teacher stabbing case: Police nab one juvenile

Two class 12 students stabbed a teacher - 50-year-old Mukesh Kumar - on 26 September as he had expelled them due to their low attendance. After committing the crime, the students were at large.However, Joint CP (Delhi) has said that one juvenile has been apprehended, according to ANI report.

The incident occurred at Government Boys Senior Secondary School in West Delhi's Nangloi area. Commenting on the issue, CP Singh, president of Government School Teachers' Association said, "This is a shocking incident that raises concerns on the safety of teachers inside the school. The students were carrying arms and they entered inside easily," Indian Express quoted him as saying.

"The boys were regular miscreants. They used to create indiscipline all the time, they even used to bunk classes and the school, they had a group. We did counsel them, but it had no effect. The victim Mukesh Kumar ji was their class teacher. We tried to inform their parents, summoned them but none of them paid heed. Then, we posted letters when parents of a few children came to the school and we informed them," ANI quoted Jasveer Chillar, the history teacher.

More than 200 hundred teachers are staging protesting against the incident and are hoping to receive justice. Manish Sisodia urged parents to teach their children to respect teachers and build confidence in them.
