Watch: Faf du Plessis takes an amazing relay catch to leave Maldivian President awe struck
Chennai Super Kings opener and South African skipper Faf du Plessis took an amazing catch at the boundary to leave Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih awe struck. Solih was there to watch the match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The incident took place in the 17th over when Imran Tahir bowled a slightly wide ball and Marcus Stoinis hit it towards long-ff. Faf du Plessis came in and grabbed the ball but when he realised that he was going inside the boundary he threw the ball towards substitute fielder Dhruv Shorey.
The catch was appreciated by all, even the Bangalore player behind the boundary line was left awe-struck. Watch the video of Faf du Plessis and Dhruv Shorey taking a relay catch.

Royal Challengers Bangalore went on to win the match by 1 run. MS Dhoni tried hard to finish the game for Chennai Super Kings but he felt short by centimeters. MS Dhoni scored an amazing 84 off 48 balls as he was the lone batsman standing for CSK till the end.
Parthiv Patel’s great presence of mind helped RCB register their third win in the season as he dismissed Shradul Thakur by hitting directly at stumps. Parthiv Patel also contributed with the bat as he hit 53 runs for RCB.
Royal Challengers Bangalore is still sitting at the bottom of the table as their net run-rate is less than Rajasthan Royals. In contrast, Chennai Super Kings are at the top of the table with 14 points to their name.
