Virat Kohli breaks Sachin Tendulkar's record infront of him in World Cup clash against Pakistan

Indian skipper Virat Kohli becomes the fastest batsman to score 11,000 one-day international runs. Kohli took just 222 innings to achieve the milestone while legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar did it from 276 innings. Virat Kohli scored 77 off 65 balls before he was dismissed by Mohammad Amir.

 

Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul also registered a record against Pakistan as they notched up the highest opening partnership stand for Indian against Pakistan in World Cup. The previous best for India was 90 runs.

Rohit Sharma became the first Indian opener to score a century against Pakistan in World Cup and he also became the first Indian to score back-to-back hundred against Pakistan. Indian top order was looking really good before the rain interrupted the match in the 47th over. India lost Virat Kohli after they came back to bat, Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar took India to 336-5 in 50 overs.

Vijay Shankar came in and gave a breakthrough to India with their first wicket in his first over. Imam-ul-Haq became the victim of a leg before.
