Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma urge citizens to practice self-isolation amid coronavirus outbreak [Watch]

The Covid-19 threat has been an utmost source of worry that has latched on to the entire world. On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave an address to the nation asking citizens to practice ‘Janta Curfew’ on Sunday. In a video posted by Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, she along with her other half Virat Kohli requested the citizens of the country to be safe by observing self-isolation during these tough times.

Anushka Sharma went on to add that the only way to put a stop to the spread of Covid-19 is by ‘acting together’.

Virat Kohli had already tweeted on Thursday, usging the people to abide by the Prime Minister’s safety measures in the fight against the coronavirus.

"Be alert, attentive and aware to combat the threat posed by Covid 19. We, as responsible citizens, need to adhere to the norms put in place for our safety as announced by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri @NarendraModi ji. #IndiaFightsCorona," Kohli's tweet read.

In another tweet, the Indian skipper also expressed his thanks to the medical professionals in the country and around the world for their effort in the fight against the deadly pathogen.

"Also, special mention to all the medical professionals in the country and around the globe for all the efforts being put in to fight the #CoronaVirus. Let's support them by taking care of ourselves and everybody around us by maintaining good personal hygiene. #IndiaFightsCorona," the Indian skipper wrote.

From Euro 2020 to Indian Premier League (IPL), major sporting events have been hit hard, which has resulted in them being deferred.
