Sachin Tendulkar gets nostalgic on Sourav Ganguly's birthday; remembers U-15 days

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took to his official Twitter account to wish his former teammate Sourav Ganguly on his birthday. Sachin shared a picture of him and Sourav from their Under-15 days and remembered their journey from playing for India to commentating together.

Sachin wrote, “Happy Birthday Dadi! From playing with you in our Under-15 days to now commentating with you. It’s been quite a journey. Have a great year ahead!”


 

Sachin and Sourav both played for India together and are now commentating for the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales. Though Sachin made his debut five years earlier than Sourav both of them scored 10,000 plus runs in ODI cricket for India.

Sourav was captain of the Indian national cricket team from 2000 to 2005 and Sachin played under him. Sourav led India to 2003 World Cup finals which they lost against Australia. The most famous series that India won under Sourav’s captaincy was the 2002 Natwest final in England where Ganguly took his shirt off on the balcony of Lord’s.

Ganguly played 113 Test games for India where he scored 7,212 runs at an average of 42.17. Sourav also played 311 ODI games for India and scored 11,363 runs at an average of 41.02.
