Rohit Sharma matches MS Dhoni's T20 record for team India

Indian opener Rohit Sharma equalled MS Dhoni’s landmark of playing in the most number of T20I matches for the men in blue during the final T20I match against South Africa on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma had featured in 97 T20I games for team India before making his appearance in the third T20I match against South Africa at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rohit Sharma matched MS Dhoni’s milestome of 98 appearances for the men in blue in T20Is.

Followed by Suresh Raina on the next spot in the list with 78 T20I appearances for the Indian cricket team.

Nevertheless, during the match Rohit Sharma fell short of performing as he could gather only nine runs. Beuran Hendricks dismissed him in the third over of the match.

The three match T20I series between the two heavyweights ended in a 1-1 draw, as India had won the second T20 match by seven wickets after the first match was rained out in Dharamshala.
