Ex-teammate in hospital, Sourav Ganguly says, 'you are not alone'

Former India cricketer Jacob Martin is battling for his life in hospital after he met with an accident in Vadodara, Gujarat. He is on a ventilator after sustaining serious injuries to his lungs and liver.

As per reports on NDTV, Martin’s wife has asked Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for help after which the board has sanctioned ₹ 5 lakh. The Baroda Cricket Association has also sanctioned ₹ 3 lakh.


Former India captain Sourav Ganguly also came forward to help former teammates family . “Martin and I have been teammates and I remember him as quite, introvert-type person. While praying for Martin’s speedy recovery, I’d like his family to know that they are not alone,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

Sanjay Patel, former Baroda Cricket Association secretary was among the first one to help Jacob’s family. Patel also received assurance from team India coach Ravi Shastri, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Khan, Yusuf Khan and Munaf Patel, who have all came forward to help Martin’s family.
