Astonishing! Fast bowler wears helmet while bowling in a T20 match, video goes viral

There are many such strange things in cricket that always fascinates fans. During the India-New Zealand match at Dharamsala last year, Australian umpire Bruce Oxenford got off to the ground after guarding the arm. Similarly, in the women's World Cup, West Indies all-rounder Andy Dottin was seen wearing a strange mask while fielding.

And now in the T20 match played at New Zealand's Hamilton, Otago's fast bowler Warren Barnes was spotted bowling while wearing helmet. During these three sentences it is considered to be the sole reason to save yourself from shots.

The 25-year-old Barnes wore helmet in order to protect himself from Northern Knights batsmen. That helmet was designed by Barnes and his coach, Rob Walter. It looks like a helmet used in cycling.

Barnes grabbed 3 wickets for 33 in the match, though Northern Knights scored 212/9 in 20 overs. Barnes could not take his team to win and Otago's team lost the match by 106 runs.

The coach said that Barnes bowed immediately after leaving the ball while bowling, due to which his head came forward. Which can prove to be a threat to him. If a batsman hits a straight drive at the time, then the chances of an injury to his head increases.

Here is the viral video of the match:
